Founder of The Pitcher's Mound in 1993, Lisa developed her talents while on full athletic scholarship at Winthrop College from 1987-1991. During her time at Winthrop College, Lisa was named to the All-Big South Conference and Big South Tournament teams from 1988-1991. She was the Big South Tournament MVP and Big South Player of the Year from 1989-1991.

Lisa played ASA softball with the Atlanta Bandits 1994 Women's B National Champions from 1989-1994. Winthrop College retired Lisa's jersey in 1996.

Some of Lisa's accomplishments while at Winthrop College, include:

  • 257 strikeouts (#2 in NCAA D-1) in 1989;
  • 34 victories (#1 in NCAA D-1) in 1990;
  • 0.51 ERA (#11 in NCAA D-1) in 1991 while recording 6.8 strikeouts/7 innings.

In 2003 Lisa was one of ten athletes named to the inaugural Big South Conference Hall of Fame and Winthrop College Hall of Fame.
